The Oakland Athletics are heading to Texas to face the Rangers in a four game series. Tonight Holland (6-4) will be pitching for the Rangers against Harden (1-0) for the Athletics. This season so far the Rangers have struggled a bit with the Athletics, but I don’t see them losing a series opener at home against the Athletics. Oakland’s pitcher has a record of 1 win and 0 losses with an ERA of 3.00. He is a familiar face however, as he played for the Rangers in 2010. Derek Holland will take the mound again tonight and try to bounce back from a horrible outing against the Marlins on Saturday. Where he allowed five runs and didn’t even make it out of the first inning. The Rangers are 3rd in the league for runs scored and slugging percentage. They are 6th in on base percentage and 2nd in hitting average. While the best batting rank the Athletics hold is 27th in batting average. However, Oakland does have the Leagues 2nd lowest ERA. The way Texas has been swinging the bat all season leads me to believe that they will over power the Athletics pitching staff.
Pick: Texas
